Speaking on the topic of leadership, President James Wright referenced the South African concept of "ubuntu." Wright said, "Such understanding of shared engagement in common causes lies at the root of the leadership needed today, for it brings with it humility, a fundamental respect for others, and a deep sense of responsibility that motivates action." Keynote speaker Tommy Clark '92 DMS '01 advised first-years to find "where your talent lies," while Molly Bode '09 urged students to "leave room for the unexpected." A Sept. 19 Washington Post article highlights the partnership between two Dartmouth alumni and the Federal Reserve Chairman that formed during the financial turmoil. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson '68 also appears on the cover of the current issue of Newsweek.  FIRST CHAIR OF DIGITAL HUMANITIES APPOINTED.

"I was a bookworm for the subjects I loved, and I was definitely a slacker the rest of the time," says Rhimes in the U.S. News and World Report's "Celebrity College Flashback."
