The exhibit will feature drawings, sculpture
and photography. His photographs have been
described as evoking a sense of dislocation

Paddock Library
Paddock Music Library houses the music-related
collections of the Dartmouth College Library System.
The Paddock Library is located on the lower level of the
Hopkins Center
The diverse collection includes monographs in a variety
of music subjects, scores, sound and video recordings,
reference materials, journals, and CD-ROMs. The library
is equipped with listening carrels, video, laserdisc, and DVD
viewing carrels, music software workstations, and computer
stations. The music library also provides quiet study areas.
Collis Student Center
Today’s Collis Center is a dramatic blend of old and
new. The welcoming Common Ground,
Dartmouth’s freshman dining hall for decades, now
provides the community with a variety of events,
including dances, banquets, and public forums.

The Hood Museum of Art is one of the oldest
and largest college museums in the country with a
collection of more than 65,000 art objects.
The only institution of its kind in the region, the
Hood Museum of Art serves as a vital cultural
and educational resource for the students, faculty,
and staff of Dartmouth as well as the communities
of the Upper Connecticut River Valley of
New Hampshire and Vermont.
In addition to maintaining displays from its
permanent collection, the museum presents
approximately eight changing exhibitions each year.
The Hood Museum Shop offers unique art-inspired
gifts for every budget and interest.

Baker-Berry Library
Jones Media Center
The Jones Center supports the instruction
and research needs for the Dartmouth Community.
It houses the microform and media collections.
The microform collection comprises more than
100,000 items in a variety of formats
Holdings include newspapers, periodicals, government
documents, and personal papers and collections
Reserve Room
Orozco Frescoes at Dartmouth College. The frescoes
are located in the basement of the Baker library and
are on permanent exhibit at the College.
The Tower Reading Room
This is located above the main corridor of Baker
Library. A popular student study area, it is open to
the public during regular hours.
Evans Map Room
The collection consists of over 189,000 sheet maps
and 3000 atlases, books, journals, CD-ROMS, computer
software, globes, and aerial photos. Although, the collection
is international in scope, it is particularly strong for
New Hampshire, the Upper Connecticut River Valley,
and New England.

Bell Tower Tours
Climb the Baker Library Tower to see a panoramic
view of campus! Don't miss this opportunity to see
Dartmouth from the top of the Library!
People interested in making the climb should stop at the
Baker-Berry Library Information Desk in the Baker
Main Corridor during these times to be directed to the Tower
Please not, there is stair/ladder climbing involved in
reaching the viewing level of the Tower. This climb is not
recommended if you are not comfortable with steep stairs or
are visiting with young children.

The Dartmouth College Library now provides
Alumni with free online access to a wealth of more
than 70 million full-text articles from over 7,100

The Rauner Special Collections Library
Weekday Hours:
Monday – Friday: 8:00 – 4:30 p.m.
This Library houses the College’s manuscripts and
rare books, as well as the College Archives.
A popular feature on exhibition in Rauner’s reading
room is Daniel Webster’s copy of Audubon’s Birds
of America.
Script to Pixels
Early Western Manuscripts at Dartmouth College
This is a new addition to the Rauner Collection.
The collection contains a reference to every
Western manuscript owned by the Library written
before 1600 as well as selected images that
illustrate paleographical, codicological, and art
historical styles.
The Stefansson Collection
A world-renowned collection of materials on the
history of Arctic and Antarctic exploration is also
housed here.
College Archives
Includes historical records of the College from it
founding in 1769. Letters, diaries, journals, financial
records, photographs, meteorological records,
genealogical files and more can be found here.
