1. President Loye Miller began the meeting at 8:09am by asking for approval of last year’s minutes. M/S/P
2. Treasurer Ed Weisenfeld gave his report dated 06-30-10 which will become part of these minutes. Class dues will remain at $50, unchanged since 2008. 64% of the class pay their dues, ranking our class near the top for participation.
3. Dave Saxton, Class Agent, gave his report of our classmates support of the College Fund at 66% participation, totaling $164,788 or $13,788 over our goal.
4. The Bequest Report by Chairman Herb Knight was read by President Loye and is a part of these minutes.
5. The Scholarship Fund Report / Class Gift was orally presented by Chairman Henry Nachman. The Fund is currently worth $135,000, including $4,000 contributed from the class treasury and $1,565 from individual classmates. We have a freshman scholar, and a scholar to be named later. Our class gifts this year will remain the same: $4,000 to the Class Scholarship Fund and $1,000 to the Dartmouth Sponsors Program.
6. Webmaster Al Brout reported that our webpage now provides access to obituaries, photos and descriptions of mini-reunions, minutes of Executive Committee meetings and other news of the Class.
7. 60th Reunion planning will be covered in a meeting tomorrow, also at the Nachman home.
8. The 2011 Fall mini-reunion will be on the weekend of September 30, October 1st. Earlier reunions, the custom in the last two years, allow us more choices in venues, usually warmer weather and better fall foliage.
9. New Business: Based on his long acquaintance with Benjamin Schore and his late wife, Kira Fournier, Henry Nachman proposed that the Executive Committee adopt Mr. Schore as a member of the Class of 1951. The proposal was approved. His C.V. is a part of these minutes.
10. The meeting was adjourned at 9:20am
Respectfully submitted,
Peirce McKee, Secretary
