JAMES W. THORPEN

    jim Thorpen died on October 30, 2010  of unknown causes. He was born in Billings, Montana and graduated from Missouri Military Academy.  He came to Dartmouth from Cody, Wyoming and attended Dartmouth Medical School and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.  He was in the U.S. Naval Reserve and attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander.  He was a pathologist in Casper, Wyoming.  His wife Ellen predeceased him.  He is survived by children Charles, James and Patrick.  Freshman roommate in 105 Woodward was Jim Ballard.  Jim was a member of the Handel Society and the Dartmouth marching band.
