OBITUARY JOHN ARTHUR JACOBEY III

    

     Dr. John (Jack) A. Jacobey of Roselle, New Jersey died  January 18, 2008 at Robert Woods Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey where he had once been associated.  A native of Colorado, he ws graduated from Denver's East High School.  At Dartmouth he

was a member of Sigma Nu and majored in chemistry-zoology. He was an avid skier. After graduation Jack went to Harvard Medical School and returned to Denver to begin his medical career as a teacher and in private practice.   He developed a specialty in thoracic surgery and thrilled

his classmates when he appeared in a Life Magazine article in the 1960's depicting a heart-transplant procedure.  He was an acknowledged expert in his field and was widely published.

     He later moved his practice to New Jersey, continuing his involvement in the Episcopal Church in Westfield.  He married and divorced twice and has no surviving relatives, according to his freshman rommmate Jerry Mitchell '51.
