OBITUARY JULIAN F. OLNEY
Julian F. Olney died on October 24, 2007of lung cancer at Gerstenberg Hospice in West Palm Beach, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Andrea Olney, his daughters, Julianna (James) Peith, Cheryl Olney and Elizabeth, sons David and Timothy and grandsons Austin and Stirling Rummings and Justin Peith.
Julie was born in White Plains, NY and prepared for Dartmouth at Pleasantville High School. He played soccer at Dartmouth, was a member of Theta Delta fraternity, the Players, the Experimental Theater and went to Tuck School for his senior year, joining the U.S. Army for the next two years after graduation. He served in the Counter Intelligence Corps. He then received an MBA from New York University in 1955 and became a Chartered Financial Analyst. He married Kadia Koutzen and entered the investment banking industry in New York City. After 12 years and three children he was divorced and later married Andrea Dombrowski. After a succession of banking jobs, he spent 1987 to 1997 with Barnett Banks in Delray, Florida as an C.F.A., senior vice president and investment advisor.
He was an avid reader, puzzle solver and an avid handball player. Julie was an active member of St. Rita Church in Wellington, serving as lector for 23 years. He also volunteered as lector for TV Mass. He was a KC*HS with the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.
