Arthur H. Morse II
died of cancer on November 4, 2006
in San Jose, California.
Hal came to College from Hamden, Connecticut.
At Dartmouth he was a member of Psi Upsilon, an English Drama major and a hockey player.
His subsequent career was
remarkable in its variety. Four years of flying fighters in the Marine Corps
were followed by a period working for a machine tool company which somehow led
to his working for, and then heading, SKI Magazine in Denver.
He next went into sales for a big California
tennis court builder then became a professional stage actor and then founded a
business which maintained living indoor plants in California
commercial buildings. After ten years he sold the business and moved to San
Jose where Hal and his wife – Janie –
devoted themselves entirely to what he
described as “the first rule in life, which is to have a good time”.
Hal is survived by his wife
and five children and step- children, seven grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.
