Robert D. Rieman, M.D. died on August 11, 2004. He died from complications of Parkinson's disease at the Hollywood (Florida) Medical Center.

Born and raised in Evanston, IL, Bob came to Dartmouth from Evanston Township High School. He majored in English with a minor in Zoology. He was a member of the Gamma Delta Chi fraternity. Bob returned home to Evanston and attended Northwestern Medical School on a full scholarship.

He married Helen Fitzpatrick in 1956 and they moved to Florida in 1960 and Ft. Lauderdale in 1965 where they raised their three sons. Bob was a Board certified orthopedic surgeon and a member of the prestigious Fort Lauderdale Surgical Society.

Along with a deep passion for the sciences Bob was an avid aircraft pilot, accomplished skier (he learned to ski at Dartmouth) and lover of classical music. He passed along to his sons these same passions.

When Bob retired from his medical practice in 1988, he and Helen moved to Durango, Colorado where they lived for 12 years before moving to Albuquerque, NM.

Helen predeceased Bob in January of 2004. He is survived by three sons, Charles, Christopher and Thomas.
