ALUMNI FUND RESULTS -- 2006 From Hugh Nolin's report: August 2006 Dear Classmate: Support for Dartmouth is growing. I am glad to say that Class of 1954 participation has also grown this year — up from 68.1 % in 2005 to 72.9% in 2006 to the Dartmouth College Fund. That said, however, contributions to DCF during the 2005-2006 year ending June 30, 2006 declined nearly $20,000 from a year ago. Much of this is reflected in special gift giving to memorials and other funds ~ covered by the DCF. On an overall basis, more than fifty percent of Dartmouth alumni contributed to the Dartmouth College Fund this year. In all, the DCF raised $30.7 million in unrestricted gifts. That’s one out of twelve dollars in Dartmouth’s annual budget. As when we were students, these gifts are used to support athletics, academics, small classes and need-blind admissions (fifty-six percent of students receive some form of financial aid). Such gifts sustain other programs that benefit every student, from trips to Moosilauke to foreign study (sixty-three percent of students study abroad). If you have participated, thank you. If not, please consider a gift for this year. Hugh Nolin ‘54
