Leo C. Murphy. Jr. died on June 25 after a long bout with prostate cancer. Born in Pawtucket, RI, Leo was a graduate of Saint Augustine High School in San Diego, CA, where he played football and basketball. He served in the US Navy during WWII, achieving the rank of ensign as an aviator. At Dartmouth, Leo majored in Psychology and was a member of Kappa Sigma, the Dartmouth Outing Club and the Flying Club. He received a Masters of Business Administration degree from Stanford University, and a Masters of Library and Information Science from the University of Rhode Island. He worked in the computer industry for 20 years and was a professor at Castleton State College in Vermont, Salve Regina University, University of Rhode Island, Saint Mary's College (California) and Providence College. He was a founding member of the Rhode Island Lobstermen's Association.
Leo  is survived by wife Madeline, his children, Leo C. III of Warwick, RI, Kevin of Narragansett, RI, Bradford of Dublin, OH, and their wives, Karen D. of Canton, MA and Justin of Menlo Park, CA, 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
