Donald W. Martin Donald W. Martin died of heart failure on December 20, 2007 in Eureka, CA at the age of 76. Don was born in Ann Arbor, MI and grew up in North Haven, CT, where he attended Avon Old Farms Prep and excelled at tennis and fencing. He was editor of the school paper and a member of the rifle team. At Dartmouth, which he attended for three years before transferring to the University of New Hampshire, from which he graduated in 1955, Don majored in Spanish, was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa, the Players and the Dartmouth Outing Club. He also was on the rifle team. Don spent the major part of his career with Rockwell International as a planner and administrative analyst, retiring from the company after 33 years in 1989. His major avocational pursuits included photography and rifle history, always an avid shooter and student in the history and development of firearms. Don is survived by his second wife, Rosemary, daughter Deborah Scott, two grandsons, a stepdaughter, one step-grand-daughter and his sister, Carole Merrill and her husband Ken of Randolph, VT, and their two sons. |
