Paul R. Mackey, after a long illness, passed away on October 4 in Holyoke, MA. Growing up in Holyoke as one of nine children, Paul was a four-letter athlete at Holyoke High School, graduating in 1949. He then attended Cheshire Academy, where he was a member of the graduating class of 1950. At Dartmouth, Paul majored in History, was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon and Sphinx and played football all four years. Receiving his commission as an Air Force 2nd Lt. from the AFROTC program, Paul earned his pilot's wings in 1956 and was assigned to the 31st Fighter-Bomber Wing, 308th Squadron (SAC) at Turner Air Force Base in Georgia. After a stint in the insurance business, Paul began a long career with Heublein, Inc., developing keen insights as a systems analyst. Paul's wife of 53 years, Carol, survives him, as do his four sons, their wives and 12 grandchildren. |
