Once again, the Class of 1962 renewed the pledge of fellowship at our annual Mini-Reunion in Hanover on a glorious fall weekend in October. Mild weather and peak colors provided the perfect backdrop for three days of festivities including two lectures at Loew Auditorium; a multi-class reception at the Hop; pizza, beer and wine at the home of John and Karin Schempf; the class meeting chaired by our Pres. John Walters (click here for Minutes and here for Treasurer's Report and here for Class Resources Report); pre-game tailgate party on the AD lawn; a disappointing football loss (24-14) to Yale; cocktails and dinner at the Shaker Inn; an optional brunch at the Hanover Inn and many opportunities for informal gatherings at the Shaker Inn HQ and elsewhere on campus.
Our dinner included fascinating brief remarks and Q&A on nudity in athletics in ancient Greece by this year's Class of 1962 Faculty Fellow 2004-5, Paul Christesen '88, Assistant Professor of Classics. (Click here for details about this year's award.) Former '62 Fellow Tom Cormen also spoke briefly.
Our thanks to Mini-Reunion chair Woody Chittick for orgainizing the event. Those attending included: |
