TRUSTEE ELECTIONS, SPRING 2010

This page provides basic information about election processes and about candidates. It makes no claim to be "comprehensive" but does assemble some of the information we have received. If you have a contribution on any aspect of this (pro, con, whatever) please send it to Dan Tompkins (click on name for email form) and we'll get it up. We've sought out websites that are strongly committed: if we've omitted others, that reflects no intent, and we'll be glad to add them.

Process: All alumni should have received an electronic ballot in the mail with an individual PIN number included. You may vote by the paper ballot or vote on-line at

www.voxthevote.org<http://www.voxthevote.org/> .

The voting period runs for four weeks from March 10 through April 7.

Sources of Information:

The Dartmouth

The D seems to have no single site gathering articles on the trustee election, but it is certainly covering developments in Hanover and elsewhere, with at least one assigned reporter. The published articles are followed by Comments sections on which all sides express opinions. A good way to get the most recent coverage is to go to http://thedartmouth.com/search/?query=trustee and request that it "order" stories "Most Recent First."

Alumni Comments on Candidates: How best to organize this? We pondered a simple binary listing, "For" and "Against" one or another party. But that would require sub-links or new links to capture various shadings or complexities of approach. So we'll sort these contributions alphabetically by author. The links are worth following.
