CLASS OF 1964
FROM THE MAY 1998 ISSUE
GILE.
In the following months, I will be bringing you up to date on the members
of our class that began their Dartmouth experience in Gile Hall. One of
the first to respond to my questionnaire was BOB BURTON (Dublin, Ohio).
Bob left the practice of law after 25 years and entered the real estate
development business. After a stint in Florida, he is back in Ohio and is
currently working on a golf course and residential development East of
Columbus. Also active in the real estate development business is
attorney BOB GINSBURG (Milford, CT). Bob recently left his former large
law firm and entered private practice. This move and the resulting
change of lifestyle enabled him to spend two weeks out of every four
vacationing and pursuing his interest in skiing and offshore fishing. In
addition, he reports that his interest in the Milford Jai Alai facility
gives him a reason to visit gaming facilities around the world and to add
to his extensive collection of casino chips. Elsewhere, JOSEPH CARDILLO
is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Albuquerque, New
Mexico. While DAVID CLARKE lives in Annandale, New Jersey and is the
Laboratory Director for Royal Lubricants and TOM CARROLL is a dentist in
Topsfield, Massachusetts. Tom reports that life is good and he continues
to fly, sail and ski whenever possible.
Captain JOHN CARPENTER (Lawrenceville, New Jersey) is Dean of the College
of Continuing Studies at Rider University. (Be sure to read John's
report on his soccer and hockey experiences in the March 1998 issue of
this magazine. I am sure that John and his linemate JOHN FISKE
(Pittsford, New York) never thought they would see the day that the
goalie on the U. S. Olympic team would be a Dartmouth student!) The
class' third varsity hockey player, JAY WHOLLEY (Tuxedo Park, New York)
is an art professor at Ramapo College of New Jersey and continues to
pursue his love of sculpting in iron. In response for my plea for
information, also I heard from DOC CORNWELL (Silverhorn, Colorado), PAUL
DRENKOW (Ann Arbor, Michigan) and PETER ESCHERICH (Alexandria, Virginia).
Doc is retired from Ralston Purina Company and reports that he and his
wife, Ann are enjoying life in scenic Summit County; while Paul is the
director for business alliances for Ford Motor Company and Peter is
responsible for damage assessment and restoration in the Division of
Contaminants at the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
I will be bringing you up to date on the lives of many more Gile alumni
in the months ahead so don't miss an issue. But more importantly, mark
the date of our 35th reunion on your calendar and be there to talk to
them yourself. The dates? October 8-10, 1999.
