Stephen Ralph Coit
Stephen Ralph Coit died in an automobile accident on November 5, 2003. Steve
came to the College from Norwich Free Academy in Norwich CT, and was a resident
of Stonington CT. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and was awarded his law degree at
Yale University Law School. He was known as a generous, gregarious and caring
person and was a faithful worker at the community meal of the Unitarian Universalist
Church and the New London Soup Kitchen. He was a member of the Connecticut
Bar Association, Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC), and in many
glee clubs. Steve was known as a "renaissance man" who collected fine art
and designer cars. He is survived by his two daughters, Marne Coit and
Rebecca Della Cruz and her husband Fred; two grandsons Daniel and Joshua;
his former wife and friend, Toby Coit Wolak; and by his Uncle David and
Aunt Anita Jainchill. Memorial donations in Stephen Coit's memory may be
