James A. Feeley Jr.


James A. Feeley Jr. of Needham died on Sunday, Oct. 19, 1997 at Deaconess Hospital, Boston. He was 55.

Originally from Milford, Conn., Mr. Feeley attended Milford Academy becoming class president and captain of the football and baseball teams. He played football there until 1962. He also received the Harris Rosenblum Memorial Scholarship.

He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1964 as an officer of Phi Gamma Delta and SPHINX.

Mr. Feeley spent his entire career in the securities industry, serving as CEO and director of W.S. Prescott and Company, Boston, and also working for Clayton Polleys and Company Inc., Boston, and Bank East Discount Brokerage Services in New Hampshire.

He was the president and chairman of J.A. Feeley and Associates, Needham.

He coached football at Don Bosco High School from 1975 to 1976, and he also coached Babe Ruth League baseball and CYO basketball. Mr. Feeley was also the coach and administrator of the Pop Warner Football Program in Winchester.

He leaves his companion, Rita M. Schulz of Needham; his daughter, Traci McCormack and her husband James of Scituate; his sons, James Feeley III and his wife Alison of Darien, Conn., and Michael Feeley of Charlestown; his mother Mildred Feeley of Needham; his brother, Jeffrey Feeley of Clearwater, Fla., and Martin Feeley of Bowie, Md.; three grandchildren; and one niece.

He was also the son of the late James A. Feeley

The funeral was held from the George E Doherty and Sons Funeral Home, Needham, on Wednesday, Oct. 22, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Bartholomew's Church, Needham.
