RE: Ron Schram's Recognition by the Rockefeller Center

At a dinner in the Hanover Inn on Friday, May 13, 2011, the Rockefeller Center at Dartmouth (http://rockefeller.dartmouth.edu/about/ )
honored our Class President, Ron Schram, for his seven years of service as Chairman of the Board of Visitors of the Rockefeller Center.
Ron joined the Board of Visitors in 2003 and after only one year of service was selected to be its Chairman.

Several people, including Professor Andrew Samwick, the Director of the Rockefeller Center, praised Ron for his work. In particular,
Samwick noted that he was new in his position when he needed to select a new Chair of the Board of Visitors. He recognized that he
himself was in need of a mentor and perceived something truly special about Ron's knowledge and experience with management and
leadership that would help him and the Center. Ron brought knowledge of Dartmouth and its culture from his long experience and years
on the Board of Trustees. Professor Samwick also lauded Ron for his guidance and support over these seven years. Unsaid was his
persuasive ability that brought financial support to the Center for its programs that focus on developing undergraduates into future
leaders.

Bill Kirby '72, a member of the Board of Visitors, was unable to attend, but sent the following:

"I have worked with many, many alumni boards over the years, and I have not found your equal in a chair: your great focus;
your emphasis on our common and individual commitment; your capacity to work with faculty leadership in an expansive and
engaged manner; your commitment to garnering the resources that will help the Center achieve its, and the College's missions;
all this with such a wonderful, compelling smile. I am pleased that Curt [Welling '71] is taking your place. He has, literally and
figuratively, very large shoes to fill."

Curt Welling '71, the incoming Chair, and Board members Peter Rockefeller '79 and Sue Finegan '85 also praised Ron's years of
service and looked forward to maintaining the high level of the Board going forward. Numerous members of the Board of Visitors,
including classmate Fritz Corrigan, were in attendance along with many students who have benefited from the Center's programs.

I thought the class should know that our President, who is leading us to our 50th Reunion, is continually involved in other important
aspects of the College. On behalf of the whole Class, Ron, thank you and "Wah Hoo Wah"
