CLASS NOTESMarch 1978

The "Blizzard of '78" is raging outside, all but obscuring my view of the apartment house across the street. What better time to day dream of warm summer evenings and the happiness of a family barbeque...

Which, of course, brings us to John Uhlmann, president of the charcoal division of the Standard Milling Company, Kansas City. John's a textbook classmate - married to Tricia for six years, Kate's four, Meg's seven months, member of Young President's Organization, executive council of K.C. Art Institute, Trustee of Menorah Hospital, golfer, tennis player, etc. Yep, a one-of-a-kind textbook classmate.

David Anderson married Jan R. Babson, a Skidmore and University of Cincinnati graduate employed by National C.S.S. Inc., a computer service marketing company, on October 8 in Greenwich, Conn. Bill Parkerton was an usher. Dave's with the Continental Illinois Bank & Trust Co. of Chicago in New York.

Dr. Walter Harrison, a Peabody, Mass., pediatrician, has been active on the political front, successfully lobbying against Medicare cuts and lighting for better education for parents. He's been active on the home front, too, as wife Linda, and Lisa, six, Michael, four, and Danny, one, can attest.

A trio of '66s are active in energy legislation based in Boston. Elliot Taubman is chief counsel of the Energy Project of the National Consumer Law Center, a federally funded organization which provides support for consumer advocate lawyers in energy-utility matters. Mark Budnitz is executive director of the NCLC. And they both work closely with Ed Dailey, executive director of the Massachusetts Energy Facility Siting Council.

Y ...Gary Jefferson is staff director of the House International Development Subcommittee in (where else) Washington ...Captain Jon Leach is a C-130E Hercules pilot with the Military Airlift Command at Yokota Air Base Japan.

Ed Kuriansky has been promoted to deputy chIef assistant In New York State's special prosecutor's office for nursing homes, health and social services and is now responsible for investigations around the state ...Brad Laycock has been elected vice president in the corporate bankIng division of Lincoln First Bank of Rochester, having moved from Cleveland Trust Co ...Bill Gruver is vice president in the securities sales department of Goldman, Sachs & Co.

North Country news: Robert Morgan a West Coast costume designer who commutes from South Strafford, Vt., put his extensive theater experience and master's degree in fine arts from Stanford to good use as director of You Can't Take It With You, a United Way of the Upper Valley benefit which played to rave reviews at the Lebanon Opera House ...Bill Malcolm is general manager of Connval, Inc. an Ely, Vt., home building center ...Joe McCarthy left teaching in Massachusetts and returned to New Sharon, Vt., as supervisor of the Dairy Herd Improvement Association.

Dr. Steve Tosi has joined Hahnemann Urology Associates in a urology practice in Worcester, Mass ...Dr. Bob Fritz has opened a practice at the Cape Ann (Mass.) Medical Center in ear, nose, and throat medicine, and is also specializing in facial plastic surgery and head and neck cancer treatment.

Jim and Nancy Dorr, who married in 1967, adopted Anne Christina on August 8, 1977. Jim's a partner in the Chicago law firm of Wildman, Narrold, Allen & Dixon.

Jeff Futter is an attorney with Long Island Lighting Company engaged in licensing nuclear power plants and other ecology related matters ...Bob Lahmann earned his law degree from the University of Washington in 1970, served four years in the Air Force judge advocate general's office, and since 1974 has engaged in a general law practice, Miller & Lahmann, in Camas, Washington. He and Lani have two children - Jennifer, five, and Ryna. three.

Bill Cooper had a busy 1977. In addition to marrying Linda, he was supervisory attorney in charge of research services at the Rennaisance Center, Detroit, firm of Dykema. Gossett, Spencer, Goodnow & Trigg and was active on the Michigan State Bar (co-chairman of committee on electronic legal research and publications) and the American Bar Association (re-appointed chairman on committee on law office technology).

Tew & Mason is a Miami law firm in which Jeff Tew is, not surprisingly, a partner. Jeff and Maureen have two sons, David and Spencer, and Jeff has soloed on a number of published articles dealing with securities and stockholder rights ...Buzz Pratt has a general law practice, with real estate emphasis, in Fryeburg, Maine, is treasurer of the Bridgton, Maine, Hospital, and, with wife Nancy, has introduced Doug. eight, and Becky, four, to fly-fishing ...Bill Jacoby graduated from Duquesne Law School last June and is a planning associate for housing in the Health & Welfare Plannmg Association in Pittsburgh.

Snow's stopped, and until the plows and buses come through, 79th Street looks, just a little like Tuck Mall did for four white and wonderful winters. I'm going out to throw snowballs - you write us a note with the latest news.
