Class of '71

35th Reunion  2006

35th REUNION WAS A BIG SUCCESS

With over 140 attendees coming from all over the country and a few from outside the borders, the Class of '71 showed up on campus with lots of energy and spirit!

The reunion team of Mickey Stuart, Dave Brooks, new pres Greg Fell, ex-pres Pete Webster, Bob Augello, and Dick Wooster  kept us well supplied with food, beverage, and entertainment.

A highlight of the reunion was our class dinner held at the Berry cafeteria owing to impending thunderstorms.  The venue turned out to be just right for our real New England Lobster dinner.  See the pictures below for the damages.  The "Dartmouth-Aires" entertained us outside and ended just as the raindrops started to fall.  President Wright and Buddy Teevens both spoke to us and gave us the status of the college, new building program(s)), philosophy of the direction of the college, and most of all, the status of the football team and its hopeful new beginning for great glory.

Without boring you with words, take a look at the pictures below.  Note that old friendships were renewed, and new ones were made.  Hopefully, you'll be able to make mini-reunions in the future and our 40th is merely 4 years and 9 months away!

Here is what we look like 35 years later

Try to get all these type "A's" to look in one direction and this is what you get!

After many, many tries this is as good as it gets!

The Upper Valley Men's Glee Club entertained us with Jeff McElnea '71 in the chorus

We had breakfast at the Ledyard Canoe Club and some went canoeing for lunch down river to the island.  Note the "War Canoe" in all its glory with Dave Brooks in bow.

Our class dinner on Wednesday evening was a smash success!

President Wright addressed the class and we gave $925,000 (final number) in unrestricted funds to the college this year and over $6,800,000 (current) since the Campaign for Dartmouth started!

Buddy Teevens told us what to expect from the football team in the next few years and new class Prez, Greg Fell, gave us a stirring inaugural address.

Final score:

Happy alums and families    MANY       Lobsters     0
