We are having our reunion from Monday, June 13, 2011 to Thursday, June 16, 2011
For those who cannot make the mid-week, we are having a mini-reunion at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, VT Friday June 10 to Sunday June 12
To be clear, the entire class - as well as those who cannot make the "official" dates - is/are invited to the mini at the Trapp Lodge
For those of you who wish to reside in the Hanover Inn, 10 rooms and only 10 rooms go on the block at noon on January 6, 2010. That is NOT a typo, yes it is 5 days from now! You can call for your reservations at the Hanover AFTER noon on January 6, 2010 at 800.443.7024
We are working with the college to provide us with Air-Conditioned dorm rooms and we're getting the Chieftan and the Marriott (both within 3 miles of the Green) to put aside some rooms.
There are a number of suggestions that along with the Mini at the Trapp Lodge (full hotel amenities), there be sites at the Ravine Lodge (moderate amenities) and at the Harris Cabin in Etna (no amenities or running water - sleeping bags and outhouse). These ideas will be worked on and more info here in the near future.
A committee is being gathered (VOLUNTEERS NEEDED) to put together venues and activities for our reunion. I already have food and drink taken care of as well as the golf outing. We need social activities, music, perhaps entertainment, outdoor activities, etc. put together.
At the Trapp Lodge, Sam Von Trapp (Dartmouth '94) has spoken with me about the use of their facilities. They have done minis there before and have the staff all set. He suggested cocktail parties, a wine tasting visit to their cellars (I was there last year - fabulous!), hiking, pools (indoor and out), workout and massage, etc. as well as touring the area which includes the Stowe ski area, Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Plant, Cabot Creamery, Smuggler's Notch, and wonderful dining in Stowe Village.
So there's the start and we're off to the races.
