CLASS OF 71
40TH REUNION PAGE
UPDATED 11/15/11

CLICK HERE FOR A LISTING OF THOSE WHO ATTENDED
Here are some pictures for those of you who attended and for those who couldn't or didn't
to see how much fun was had. Many of these people didn't know each other or hadn't seen
one another for years and, in some cases, decades. However, having the common bond of
the CLASS of 1971, they all had a GREAT time together!
First, Mickey Stuart, Peter (Weebs) Webster, Wayne Hobin and Candace Setzer had rent a van and
then make the BOOZE run to West Leb. Notice the quantities y'all imbibed!
We managed to "Reward" ourselves for all the hard work.

First event was the Thursday evening reception at the DOC House
First 2 pics show the house pre-party with caterer setting up. The crowd showed on time.
Jake Crowthamel and Jack Degange were introduced by Barry Brink.
Finally, the Aires gave us a great selection of Dartmouth songs AND did their TV
presentation of "PinBall Wizard"

Friday AM came with lectures, hikes, golf and self tours of the college during the day.
Some went to King Arthur Flour for baking classes.
Some went to the Harpoon Brewery for a tour and tasting.
ALL these activities rated VERY high on the survey
I have pictures of only the events I attended. If any of you have some of other events, PLEASE
send to me at Reunion71@hotmail.com and I'll post them here.

Friday evening was a dinner of Kabobs in the tent (heated)
followed by our domination of the parade up Main Street.
What can I say - BonFire! The Frosh still run around it.
Afterwards, Don O'Neill played DJ and we got a FEW to dance (more to follow on Sat)

Amazing what you see BEFORE the parade All lined up and ready to march - that huge crowd is US!

President Kim addresses the crowd, and what a crowd it was. Frosh race around the fire - some for 10 miles!

BonFire!
Saturday started for Candace and me at the Class of '53 Commons aka Thayer.
Then off to the Top of the Hop where we had the Memorial Celebration.
Nels Armstrong "Welcomed us HOME" and gave us a fabulous remembrance.
We proceeded to have class meeting and the new officers were voted in (see the Class Officers page).
Jeff McElnea, Charlie Collier and Mike Fay put together a Wealth Management presentation
for the class that was quite interesting.

Not the Thayer of our day, no serving ladies with hairnets. Also, REAL food!

Top of Hop Memorial Celebration and Panel

Off to the Hovey Grill Mural presentation. This was one of the few times the murals
have been uncovered over the past 40 years. The Class paid to have the book
about the murals published by the Hood Museum. The contributors (Bob McGrath one of them "Art 1")
gave presentations about the history, art merit and meaning of them to a full house.

After this busy morning, we retired to the tent for sausage and burgers.
President Kim came and addressed us.
Head Agents Sam Cuddeback, Michael Maynard, and Malcolm Jones did the presentation of
the Class's DCF check.
Then it was off to the glorious defeat of Columbia 37-0 at the Stadium (great foliage, too).
The weekend was a winner for Rugby (62-0 score and Ivy Champions) and Soccer (3-2 score) over
Columbia, also.

Changing of the guard, Greg Fell gives the reins to new President Peter Pratt as I look on

The final BASH at the Ski Way McClean Lodge.
I'm just going to let these pictures speak for themselves.
Bones Gate did manage to get their act together for a group photo.

Yeah, that's Class of '71(H) Bob McGrath doing his thing

Bob is a real Lady's Man! Kate and Bob Mustard enjoying life!
One last picture of the Reunion Committee (names below)
They did one Hell of a job!

From left: Barry Brink, Don O'Neill, Me, Greg Fell (hiding behind me) Mickey Stuart,
Dave Brooks, Charlie Collier, Jeff McElnea, Bruce Tepper, Weebs, Nels Armstrong
at podium Russ Adams - giving out the golf awards.
I tried to get as many of you as possible in the pictures. If I missed you, it was totally unintentional.
If any of you have pictures (the one of Bones Gate was supplied by John Eaton) PLEASE send
them in jpg format (and not too large) to me at Reunion71@hotmail.com.
Thanks to all of you for attending and for putting up with a few minor issues. Y'all are a GREAT CLASS!
For the Class,
Wayne Hobin, Reunion Chairman
