A COLLECTIVE 60TH BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR US ALL,  WINTER TRIPS,

THE 60TH B-DAY BLOWOUT FIRST WEEKEND IN APRIL, 2009

I have heard that some of the other classes have had great success celebrating 60th, 65th, etc. birthdays.  Since most of us turn 60 (can you believe it?) between 2008 and 2010, I thought that a long weekend trip to someplace. What with the meltdown of our investments, how about a scaled down     Golf, Tennis,  Hiking, Water sports, Historic touring, HUGE B-Day dinner weekend here in the Foothills of South Carolina?  I live in a golf, tennis, water community on beautiful Lake Keowee near Greenville and Clemson University.  Clemson is the "Dartmouth of the Southeast" as John C. Calhoun and Daniel Webster were debaters who toured the country together making money debating slavery.  The Calhoun house is on the campus and is interesting to tour.  There are a couple of antebellum plantations around.  The golf is excellent as is the tennis, workout center, indoor pool, beaches on the lake, and I'll give boat tours (weather permitting).  The dates are the the first weekend in April 3, 4, 5.  I can arrange for condo rental for $399 for the 2 nights (on or near the lake - 2 bedrooms, 2 baths normally $549 for 2 nights) and $150 per night thereafter.  Please go to my real estate oriented web site to see what the place looks like www.WayneHobin.com.  I'll need to know definitely by March 13th at the latest. You'll have to call me with a credit card # to reserve a condo. Call 864-944-2135 or email me at wayne@horizonpointe.net.  So far we have the Fells, McElneas, O'Neills, Pratts, Bruce Ferguson, Peter Bradley, and Hobin.  We NEED more!

You may stay as long or as short as you like.  Some of the locals are coming just for dinner Friday or Saturday night.

Dinner schedule is:

Thursday night at local Seneca restaurant "Rudy's".  Fine cuisine in a remodeled store/warehouse.

Friday night at the Keowee Key Country Club - Private room

Saturday night at Sobe's on Main in Downtown Greenville.  Private room and transportation for the 45 min trip if enough attend.

Daytime activities are planned with lots of time on your own for exploration and relaxation.

'71 CLASS DINNER IN BOSTON IN OCTOBER

Michael Maynard is planning another dinner to be announced for a '71 dinner for you Bostonians.  After the success of the recent dinner (see pics and writeup on the mini reunion page  CLICK HERE)  the Bostonians have decided to redo.  This time, MICHAEL NEEDS AT LEAST 20 OF YOU TO SHOW UP SO HE CAN BOOK A PRIVATE ROOM.  This would keep the noise situation down as that was the only drawback to both the DC and recent Boston dinners.  Keep your eyes here for more info.  Contact  Michael at  jmmaynard@worldnet.att.net.
