LeRoy died on October 30, 1996, in Boston, where he had been a student at Harvard Divinity School. Roy Grew up in Yonkers, New York, and graduat- ed from Yonkers High School. After Dartmouth, he worked at investment banks in New York, including Security Pacific and Shearson Lehman Brothers. In 1987 he moved to Portland, Maine, where he worked in computer software sales and later joined Shearson’s Portland office as a broker. While in Portland, Roy was active in drug and alcohol use- prevention programs and he enjoyed the outdoors —hiking, camping, canoeing, and skiing. In 1994 he moved to Boston to pursue a master’s degree at Harvard’s Divinity School. He was a volunteer for two years, counseling Boston-area high school students about drug and AIDS prevention. He is survived by his mother, Ann, and brother John B. Hobby.
