Ranny Cardozo 1956 - 1976
Editor’s Note: Ranny was a very special friend to many in our class. He unexpectedly, inexplicably took his own life in the fall of our junior year.
Christine Simpson Brent honors Ranny’s memory with her words on page 384. Chris was also one of the founders of our Class’s annual award recogniz- ing the outstanding member of each junior class who “most exemplifies Ranny Cardozo’s academic enthusiasm, genuine concern for his fellow class- mates, and energetic participation in campus and community activities.”
Each year the recipient’s name is inscribed on the memorial plaque which hangs at the College, and he or she receives a personal award. The endowed fund which supports this memorial has grown stronger over the past 25 years, with the hope that someday it will become a full scholarship award for each recipient’s senior year.
