D’79 Chicago Minireunion

Attached is the picture of the Chicago ‘79 group that showed up for the Chicago 79th day get-together. It appears this weekend was either the start or end of many school district’s Spring break so attendance was scant…. And also a reflection of how busy we all are these days….

We talked of what’s changed in the 25+ years (25 years ago we were about to depart the Hanover plain, most of our Dartmouth experiences already behind us…), our current doings, our families, of what transpired in 1979 (inflation rate was 18%, can you believe that?!), and many more topics. We (hopefully) encouraged one attendant to participate in the reunion.

Nancy Wilder created name tags replete with our yearbook pictures and bios. We had ‘70’s music and a boom box ready to power up but somehow didn’t get to that…. We skimmed the page of “what happened in 1979” sheet that Nancy created, but mostly talked more of the present than the past.
