Fall ‘97
Penn Game, September 20
The PennBQue was a big success, according to lovely hostest, Carol Neitz. Classmates who joined Carol were Cynthia Ricks, Pat Pannell Edokwe, Helen Davis Picher, and Maurice (thank God one male made it) Simmons, along with a host of kids, spouses and friends. Carol had so much fun that she’ll be renting out La Bec Fin next time around. THANKS, CN.
25th Anniversary of Co-education, October 18
Report from Sue Goodman Cohen.
I am finally getting my head above water after building & moving into a new house. Actually, the Coeducation Anniversary mini-reunion was so crowded that I’m not sure of which ‘79s were there, but these people definitely were (andI’m sure others as well).
Sova Pheng Fisher,Kate Augenblick, Colleen Sullivan Bartlett, Susan Drury, Lucinda Fernald with her 9-week old infant daughter, Julia Hunter
and myself of course. I think Grace McGorrian was there (she was definitely up for the weekend). Margaret Avril was planning to attend the weekend but I believe became ill at the last minute. Her sister Susan Avril ‘88 came to the min-reunion to say hello to the ‘79s in her place.
Homecoming/Harvard
We killed ‘em at the parade with 6 classmates participating…that was more than the sum total of participants from all the classes 3 years before and after 79. Yahooya! Marching were Liz (of course) Proctor Gray, Elenor Shannon Salem, John Currier, Phil Odence, and Rueben Stokes (who looked great after a week of RVing around New England). Jim Eden and Mike Geilich were on the sidelines enjoying the parade.
The BBQ was also a great success. John Currier, Nancy Schwartzman Malmquist, and Ugly Joe Henley all enjoyed halftime beers and dogs at Phil O’s tailgate (It was planned for Mitchell’s, but Billy bagged out.) Jeff Greene and Carl Briscoe also cruised by.
‘79 Cross-Country Mini-Reunion 40th Birthday Party
ReCap
Big thanks to all the hosts for a rousing success. On June 28, over 50 classmates and their tolerant families came together to celebrate the onset of our next decade!!! Stay tuned for additional photographic evidence.
