What Join A New Dartmouth Skiing Tradition!

On Friday, March 3, 2006, the Dartmouth Club of Vail is hosting their Annual "All Dartmouth Ski Day" for interested Dartmouth connected skiers in Vail, Colorado.

This is a somewhat new "Dartmouth Tradition" that fits with the best of the oldest Dartmouth traditions of how to enjoy the Dartmouth spirit with Dartmouth folks of all ages.... Last year, we had participants from Dartmouth and Tuck Classes of 1943 to 2006! We would love to see lots of alumni join as supporters of this special event in the annual Dartmouth calendar!

The Tuck School, the Dartmouth Club of Denver and members from a number of individual Classes, like 1958, 1960 and 1965, are already lined up to participate this coming year. In the last "All Dartmouth Ski Day," over 110 Dartmouth connected folks took to Vail Mountain on Friday, March 4, 2005, to enjoy some old fashion Dartmouth skiing fun. This is believed to be a record number of "Dartmouth related skiers to be on one mountain on one day outside of New England!" We hope to set a new record in 2006!

The Friday, March 3, 2006, "Ski Day" involves a group picture at around 9:15 AM at the Vista Bahn Ski Lift; lunch in groups at Vail's famed Game Creek Ski Club or giant Two Elk Lodge, both on the ski mountain; a massive cocktail party after skiing; and many Class dinner groups.... Most of the skiers were around for long weekends with the Tuck School hosting an early morning pre-skiing seminar on Saturday, and many Classes holding a variety of mini-reunion activities.

This year, the local Dartmouth Club is working with Vail Mountain's management to obtain discounts on ski tickets, and possibly hotel rooms.... They would like to encourage every Class, Club and other alumni organization to make their alumni and other skiers aware of this event; and any interested parties should contact the President of the Dartmouth Club of Vail, Steve Waterhouse '65, directly to find out details via email at stewater@aol.com

What Come see my group,  "San Francisco Choral Society" in action.  This is THE concert to come see. If you have never heard "Carmina Burana" you MUST hear it live in concert at least once. If you have heard it - you will understand that this performance in Davies Symphony Hall with full orchestration and a raft of incredible solists is something not to be missed. I really hope you can come either Friday night (I can seat you near Sharon!) or Saturday night next week. If you want me to get tickets for you at the box office - let me know as I will be buying them on Tuesday next week.
