We Need Nominations for the Class of 1999 Alumni Council Representative by February 27, 2012

The term of our current Alumni Council Representative, Jennifer Kaye Argenti, ends on June 30, 2012. The Class of 1999 Executive Committee is now seeking nominations for the Class of 1999's representative to the Dartmouth Alumni Council for the 2012-2015 term (starting on July 1, 2012). The elected representative will serve a three year term and attend two meetings each year in Hanover, usually held in early December and mid-May. Councilors are responsible for the cost of their travel both to and from Hanover, but the Office of Alumni Relations provides overnight accommodations and most meals while Councilors are in Hanover.

The Alumni Council is like the senate of the Dartmouth alumni body. The mission of the council is to sustain a fully informed, representative, and engaged exchange of information and sentiment between alumni and their College, and to enhance and inspire alumni involvement that furthers the mission of the College.

Vacancies on the Alumni Council are filled on the basis of nominating the very best Dartmouth citizen who will add strength to the important work of the council.

Qualifications include:

  1. Outstanding achievement and/or special qualifications;
  2. Demonstrated active interest in Dartmouth;
  3. Availability to attend meetings;
  4. Ability to represent legitimate interests of alumni and to effectively report back to constituents on council work.

Regardless of the number of nominations received, the Class will hold an online election to select the Class of 1999 Alumni Council Representative.
