Class Notes - January 2002

As many of you know by now, one of our classmates, Juan Cisneros, was lost in the September 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. This news was especially difficult for those who knew Juan, but it affected all of us in the extended Dartmouth community as well. During this holiday season, stop and take a minute to reflect upon the friends and family in your life for-a s recent events have shown-the future is unpredictable. On behalf of the executive committee, our deepest sympathies go out to Juan's family and friends.

Lots of wedding news to report this month. Travis Gardner wrote to share the news of the marriage of Posy Evans and Tim Parsons. "The wedding took place on Cape Cod. The ceremony was at the Falmouth church with reception following at the Chapoquoit Yacht Club. Young alums in the crowd included Katie Catapano, Alice Nelson, Clancy Broxton, Andy Maixner, Tait Morrison, Karen Anderson, John White '00, Liza Cowan '00, Dan Herlihy '00, and me. Clancy, who has been living in China for the last two years, flew in from her Doctors Without Borders assignment. The alumni had few moments to revel in memories when the wedding party announced the Dartmouth picture. We all gathered on the dock with the newlyweds, Posy's father Jay Evans '64, Tim's dad (also a Dartmouth alum), and a few family friends. We sang the alma mater, snapped pictures, and headed for the dance floor where Andy Maixner was giving tango lessons. Posy and Tim sailed off into the sunset-with Just Married on the sail-to a crowd cheering and waiving sparklers."

On January 13, 2001, Anna Miller married Mark Hill '00 at a ceremony at the Episcopal church in Hanover. According to bridesmaid Liz French, there were lots of '99s in the bridal party as well as at the wedding. In the wedding were Liz, Margot Neebe, Ben Hill, and Michelle Gregg Sweester. Also at the wedding were Scotty McConnaughey, Laura Poplawski, Deric Corwin, Bill Hwang, Jess Jacobs, Annette Gaynes,Chrissy DeLorenzo, and Anthony Accurso. Anna looked beautiful and seemed very happy. She's now working for Ford in Michigan, where both she and Mark are living.

Heather McNulty, who is enjoying her job at Estee Lauder in New York, writes, "I recently made the trek to Brooklyn for Adam Kane' s birthday, along with Dave Maher, George Wisecarver, and Chris Sullivan. There, we ran into and caught up with Julia Morril '98. I saw Lauren Brenner, Christian Bateson, and Nick Van Amburg at the Dartmouth Club of New York the evening President James Wright spoke. I know that Tait Morrison was recently sent to Hong Kong for a month with her new job at Pepsi and had a great time. Not too long ago, I got lunch with Jenny Johnson, who is moving to New York from Philly shortly. Alli Wiener was also back in town from sunny San Francisco briefly, after running the marathon in Chicago. Congrats! A few weekends ago, with Jay Tatum up from North Carolina for the weekend, visiting girlfriend Gabby Lijo, we had a nice Dartmouth gathering in New York City, with the addition of Gary Stern, Andrew Dance, Brandon Henry, George, Adam, and Dave.

More next time. I hope everyone is doing well out there. Get back for Winter Carnival if you can. Cheers.
