Class Notes - March 2003

Hey everyone. This is going to be a short column this month due to lack of submissions, so please make an extra effort to send me your updates. I promise to get them in, even if it takes an issue or two to do it.

Chris Holden and Wendy Soutsos were married this past summer on July 27th in Simsbury, Conn. There were quite a few Dartmouth attendees ranging from the class of ’00 to Chris’s grandfather Parker Holden ’38. Dartmouth alums in the wedding party included bridesmaid Kendra Kosko, groomsmen Chris Emond and Chris Davidson, and reader Ben Riefe.

Jean Saunders also sent me an update on what she has been doing since we left Hanover. From graduation until August of 2001, Jean was in San Francisco, Calif., where she completed the Gap, Inc. corporate management program and became a production manager in Banana Republic Women’s Division. She then took time off to spend time with friends and family at home in Charleston, SC, including grandfather Dero Saunders ’35, who died last May. Jean is now attending the University of South Carolina School of Law and loving it.

Sara Alexander writes, "I am writing to give you an update as to what has been happening in the life of the Alexanders over the past few months. In April, Chris Alexander (Georgetown ’98) and I were married in Charlotte, NC, where we have been living with our son, Kevin, for the past two years. Stephanie Nearpass, college roommate extraordinaire, was one of my bridesmaids. After the wedding, Chris took me on a surprise honeymoon to Jamaica where we had our own villa with a private beach, cook, housekeeper, gardener, and driver. Talk about being spoiled - it was great! Upon returning to reality, we made the decision to make an addition to our family and are now eagerly awaiting the arrival of our second son in February. To make things even more exciting, I quit my job and started working at Addison Whitney, a branding consultancy firm in Charlotte, as a name development coordinator. It is the best job and exactly what I have been looking for. Basically, we get to name new products, companies, and pharmaceuticals."

That’s about it. Again, please take some time to let me know what’s going on with you. Best wishes for a safe and happy New Year.
