Class Notes - May 2000

I didn’t think that this kind of announcement would come so soon, but congratulations to Sara Bauer and Christopher Alexander on the birth of their new son in February! Shortly thereafter, Sara wrote me to tell me the details: "It has been a crazy week so far since our new son has arrived. I know some people did not know there was one on the way so … surprise! To everyone else, the long wait is over. Kevin John Alexander was born on February 6, 2000. He weighed in at 8 lbs., 8 oz., and was 21" long. He is the most beautiful creature I have ever laid eyes on and grows dearer to our hearts everyday." Sara went on to describe the entire delivery (I mean everything!), so if you are interested in hearing more about it, definitely get in touch with her. There is also a copy of the birth announcement, Chris’ version of what happened, and pictures of Kevin at http://www.geocities.com/kevinnet2000. Congrats again!

Elsewhere, it seems as though the ’99s have once again been causing a disturbance in NYC. Alli Brugg reports that Carrie Bourdon and Sean Kisker’s visit from San Francisco brought together a crowd of over thirty ’99s and ’98s for a weekend which surely brought up the bottom line of many a bar for the month of February. Kaitlin Reidy, in her capacity as the official social coordinator, got the weekend off without a hitch, deserving the thanks of all those who attended. Earlier this year, Matt Shevlin, Dylan Karczewski, Andrew Dance, Chris Sullivan, Chris Showalter, Kyle Rogers, Adam Kane, Zack Hafer, Will Leicht, Todd Becker, George Wisecarver, Jay Tatum, Billy Wynne, Tom Reynolds, and a whole host of ’99s met up at a party at Bar East in the city to stir up a little action. I imagine that was a scene to be remembered for a long time.

Otherwise, it has been a pretty routine month for the class of 1999. Jennifer Anderson recently went back to New Hampshire to spend a weekend on the slopes with Nate Huckel-Bauer. Nate then took off to Hanover for a small reunion with Mia Hockett, Nancy Bloomfield, Joe Edelman, Carrie Fucile, and Ben Guaraldi.

Finally, Kyle Marchesseault recently attended the wedding of Jim Linehan ’98 in Indianapolis. While he was there, Kyle got a chance to catch up with several heavyweight rowers including Jamie Peschel who competed for the U.S. National Team at the World Championships of rowing last summer and Alton Lo who is working for Ask Jeeves, a search engine in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Well, I’m going to have to cut this one short, folks. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to sit down right now and send me a blitz or a note about what’s going on in your life. Otherwise, I will be forced to make stuff up about you and, believe me, you wouldn’t want that to happen…

Until next month.
