Class Notes - May/June 2006

Hello 99s! I hope you are all enjoying the fantastic spring weather! Yet another year has passed since we left Hanover, and I am amazed at how many of us now have families of our own.

Alexis Starke reports that Jordan Kritzer Fiorentini and her husband Emanuele Fiorentini became the proud parents of a baby girl. Their beautiful daughter, Morgane Sofia Kritzer was born on September 20, 2005 at 11.43AM. Alexis writes that the Kritzer family is very happy and doing well.

Chris and Heather (Harnett) Ross have also welcomed a new edition to their family. On December 22, Benjamin Parker Ross was born, weighing 7lbs 14oz. Benjamin has an older sister, Isabella, who is now 20 months old. Chris and Heather write that "having two kids 18 months apart is definitely crazy but a lot of fun". Congratulations, and good luck!

Susan Sagebiel Fox and her husband David Fox '97 have also experienced the joys of parenthood. Susan is a licensed veterinarian, but she and David have spent most of their time and energy raising their one-year-old daughter Kathryn. Susan, David and Kathryn live in College Station, TX, where Susan and Dave own an operate Blue Baker, an independent bakery café.

In other news, Matthew Anderson-Stembridge writes that he and his wife Kristen recently moved to Minneapolis, MN. Matthew is working with the National Council of Churches in Christ to co-ordinate a campaign on climate change, while Kristen is co-ordinating public policy and advocacy through Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota.

Matthew also writes that Chris Warren and Julie Kachniasz ’00 were married on September 17 in Kennebunkport, ME. Matthew writes: "Many Dartmouth alums were there and proudly stood with Chris and Julie and then celebrated their marriage. From the rehearsal dinner to the spectacular reception, it was a wonderful weekend for a fantastic couple". The strong Dartmouth contingent included Jason Albertson, Ben and Ali Bawden, Matt Clendenny, Brad David, Robert Isaacs and Alex Porcaro, among others. The happy couple currently live in Oxford in the United Kingdom, where Chris is finishing his Ph.D.

One of the highlights of Matt and Kirsten’s visit to Kennebunkport was a canoe trip along the Moose River in northern Maine with Alex Porcaro and his girlfriend Andrea. Alex is working at KQED in San Francisco and was recently promoted. Alex is also hosting a monthly public radio show about the national flea market and maintains a related blog as well.

I am quite surprised by the amount of Dartmouth people here in the UK! In addition to Chis Warren and his wife Julie, Claire Heleniak is also in the UK, studying for her MBA at the London Business School. Claire graduates in June, and will work with Goldman Sachs in London specializing in private wealth management. Claire and Vanessa Berbarian recently threw a joint birthday party attended by quite a few Dartmouth alums, including Vanessa’s fiance John Fernquest ’98, Carlos Gonzalez and his fiancée Erin, Jennifer Fulton, Risana Zitha, Erick Shigley, Jenn Jones ’97, Alex Wrightman ’98 and Lila Paul ’00. Claire reports that they "all had a great time, and are looking forward to more frequent get-togethers--especially now that Jennifer Fulton has purchased a pong table for her flat!" The Dartmouth spirit truly does roam across this girdled earth in full force!

Finally, I have one correction on Melissa Kho's wedding noted in the March/April issue. Melissa Kho's husband, Peichung Chiu, graduated from CMU in 1998 (not 1988). Yuika Goto was among those attending (not Yuiko Goto as stated). Finally, the happy couple are living in Armonk, NY (not Armong, NY). I apologise for the confusion caused by this oversight on my part.

That's all the news for now. Over the coming months, some of you will get an e-mail from me, asking for an update on any news you might like to share. Contacting a random assortment of you helps me ensure that these Notes are as representative of our Class as possible. In turn, if any of you have any updates, then feel free to e-mail me on tony.perry@alum.dartmouth.org. I look forward to hearing from as many of you as possible, and will do my best to include your news in the next issue!

Until next time,
Tony Perry '99
