Class Notes - September/October 2007

Hello 99s! Another summer has flown by and we have lots of news to share!

First, Bradford Davis was awarded a Zuckerman Fellowship to fund his studies at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. After graduating from Dartmouth Bradford served as an intelligence officer for the U.S. Navy. This took him to several locations in the Middle East, including Iraq, where he was decorated for actions under enemy fire during Operation Iraqi Freedom. In addition to his studies at Harvard, Bradford is also pursuing an M.B.A. at Tuck. Congratulations, Bradford, on receiving this well-deserved award!

In other news Healy Jones married Michelle Shinn (University of Texas '00) at an enjoyable ceremony held at the Philadelphia Zoo on April 21. They were joined by a strong Dartmouth contingent that included George Braun and wife Alexa Hanke, Erik Berg, Lee Bronsick, Ian Campbell, Eugene Kim, Mike Lepene, Alton Lo, Blair Schmicker, Duncan Simmons, David Smith '98, Ruth Douzinas '98, Andy Lewis '00, Eric Wagner '00, Farouk Ladha '96. Healy and Michelle were both M.B.A. students at the Wharton School and completed their studies in May.

I am also happy to write that our Dartmouth family has grown quite a lot since the last newsletter! Chris Holden and Wendy (Soutsos) Holden became the proud parents of their baby boy Parker on February 26. Sarah Kelmenson-Chau and Derek Chau also welcomed a new addition to their family. Erin Loback reports that the happy couple "welcomed their firstborn, 5-pound, 8-ounce Lucas Elijah Chau on May 12. He's adorable, and mom and baby are doing well."

Liz (Stambler) Pasquini and her husband, Tom Pasquini '00, became the proud parents of twins (a boy and a girl) in August. Liz writes, "Annaliese Rose Pasquini and Luca Alexander Pasquini are happy, healthy and giving us a run for our money." Annaliese and Luca are already getting well acquainted with Dartmouth and our class. So far the twins have met Chris (Shaner) Horning, Molly Anderson, Liz Kane, Ann Sharfstein and Dan Meilcarz. In addition, the Pasquinis plan a move to Lebanon, New Hampshire, when Tom and Liz complete their doctoral degrees. The happy family are quite keen to return to the Upper Valley!

Finally, Megan Phillips Drury and her husband, Philip, report that they are enjoying their first year of parenthood. Their daughter Juliet Megan Drury was born on July 31, 2006, and is quite the active child. Megan writes that Juliet "already loves swimming, yoga and crawling after a soccer ball and, of course, she has already ridden her first tiny pony." The Drurys are excited to take Juliet to England for the first time this summer and they continue to battle over whether she is slightly more American or English. Megan also notes, "Juliet gets a healthy dose of Dartmouth influence by hanging out in New York with Kathleen DeGuzman, Erin Rewalt, Pete Agnes and his wife, Dana, and Christina Maybaum Casey '98."

That's all the news for now. I hope you all are enjoying the cooler weather and I look forward to sharing more news with you again soon!
