Class Notes - September 2003

Hey everyone. Hope you had a good summer and hope to see you all at homecoming. On to the news...

Matt Giedt wrote to let me know that he and Jason Gracilieri have started their own enterprise software product company: Applied Reason & Technology. He writes, "We're based in Boston and are having the time of our lives trying to get it up and running with Jason focusing on the business development side leaving me in charge of the technology. We've already been able to generate a lot of potential interest in our product, but in the meantime please send checks and food donations to 162 Dorchester St. Boston MA."

Josh Brann met up with Abraham Mahshie '01 in January in Balneario-Camboriu, Brazil, for a few days of caipirinhas and relaxing on the beach.

Christine Shaner was married to Luke Horning on October 26th in Bethel, ME. Several Dartmouth '99s were in attendance including Jessica Smith, Barb Jones, Lara Kendall, Abi Holt, Aricca Dums, Doug Van Citters, Molly Anderson, Liz Stambler, and Justin Neuman, as well as Walker Homes '00 and Renee Gambell '00. The couple honeymooned in Honduras and now resides in Leadville, CO.

Tait Morrison writes, "First off, Andra Winokur recently got engaged to her boyfriend, Elliott Newman, and they are planning a spring wedding for next year. Andra has been living in NY since graduation and is a recruiter for Abercrombie & Fitch. News of the engagement spurred a bunch of Dartmouth gatherings in NYC. Unfortunately, I missed seeing Laurie Sykes, who just got back from a year working in St. John. Personally, I have recently left my job at Pepsi to attend Kellogg business school in the fall. I'm excited for the move and to hang out with Emily Regula in Chicago next year! A bunch of other '99s are off to business school as well, including Elizabeth Meigher (Columbia), Katie Daly (Stanford), Allison Sands (Harvard) and Andrew Dance (Tuck). I hear Jon Heaton is going to Kellogg as well but I haven't had a chance to touch base with him yet. That's all for now."

John Maldonado ’98 and Shana Stevens were married on a frigid, rainy Saturday in May in Kennebunkport, Maine. Despite the weather, it was an amazing day and a great party. Many '99s were in attendance. Shana writes, "John and I like to think that our wedding infected some of them with the marriage bug. Two days before the wedding Chris Chang and Bethany Crenshaw got engaged; two days after, Sarah Carlson got engaged to her boyfriend of one year, Chris Powers; and less than two weeks later, Maureen McAleer and her longtime boyfriend Dave Costello got engaged. Other engaged '99s at the wedding included Tully Pruden (marrying her fiancé Mark Murphy in November), Elizabeth Tripoli (marrying her fiancé Eric Laughlin in August) and Liz Rozumek (marrying her fiancé Wells Hammock in September). Of course Jen Prusik Moore flew in from Atlanta (she set John and me up 6 1/2 years ago). She just graduated from Emory Law School and celebrated her two year anniversary with husband Brian Moore. We missed Amy Mikolajczyk, who was gallivanting in Europe and couldn’t get home for the wedding. Incidentally, she just stumbled upon a job teaching in northern Italy for the coming school year. There were also plenty of single '99s in attendance who provided for many good post-wedding stories, but I’ll have to save those for another time."

Keep the news coming.
