Can’t make it to Hanover this Homecoming? Consider celebrating Homecoming in the South with an extraordinary weekend of Shakespeare, scholarship, and camaraderie.

Participants will see first-rate productions and participate in discussions to gain further insight into the work that creates the magic of a Shakespearean play.

During this multi-part weekend, revered Dartmouth professor and pre-eminent Shakespearean scholar, Peter Saccio will lead participants through a literary and theatrical labyrinth of Shakespeare’s plots, language, and themes — their Elizabethan context and the significance subsequent generations have found in them.

The Taming of the Shrew (Friday)
Othello (Saturday)
Henry IV, part 2. (Sunday matinee)

Why Staunton, Virginia? Not only is Staunton a beautifully preserved historic southern town, it is the home of the internationally-acclaimed American Shakespeare Center. There, in the only authentic recreation of Shakespeare’s Blackfriars Playhouse, you will enjoy not only stellar performances but an exclusive meeting with renowned Shakespeare director, educator and American Shakespeare Center Executive Director Ralph Cohen D’67.
