Join us for alumni interviewing!

Interviewing is a fun way to make a difference for Dartmouth and applicants in your area, while getting together with local alums. Your District Enrollment Directors put together group interviews in Denver and Boulder several times each interviewing season, offering the opportunity for food and conversation, and immediate discussion of the interview. Some interviewers like to use the occasion to prepare their evaluation write-ups together. If it's more convenient, interviews may also be conducted in alumni homes, offices, or in coffee bars or restaurants. To learn more about Dartmouth alumni interviewing in general, visit this link: http://www.dartmouth.edu/~interviewers/interviewing/

Alumni interviewing should be seen as a service to both the applicant and the College. Your interview provides Dartmouth a more complete picture of the candidate, and the applicant receives a personal interaction with the College--something that can make all the difference in recruiting strong candidates. We like to think of the interviews as a chance for one or two alums to chat informally with the students about themselves and the College, rather than a formal "grilling" process before a panel (though some of us remember the latter vividly!).

The number of applications to colleges has increased dramatically over the past few years; roughly 200 students from Colorado apply to Dartmouth annually. The College no longer conducts interviews in Hanover, so the responsibility for interviews lies solely with us and we take it very seriously. If you have had a child apply to college, you understand how much the interview means to the students.

Early decision applications are due November 1, and early decision interviews need to be conducted during that month. Regular decision interviews run from December through mid-February.

If you think you might like to get involved in this worthwhile and enjoyable effort, or want to re-up for the 2010-2011 application season,  please contact Keating Coffey for Metro Denver at keatingcoffey@comcast.net and Amy Beringer at amyberinger@comcast.net for northern Colorado outside of Denver (e.g. I-70 and north). Jon Snider (jfsnider@comcast.net) handles interviews in the southern portion of the state.

Thanks for your support!
