Your nicknames make it easier for others to find you,
if you are known by names other than the one listed in
the directory. Nicknames can also include alternate spellings,
so that a "Stephen" can also be looked up as
"Steve".
You may list up to five nicknames, separated with spaces,
for example:
Name: John Q. Doe '86
Nicknames: Jack Johnny JQDoe
For example in the above case, if John Doe '86 added
the nickname "Jack", then email sent to <Jack.Doe.86@alum.dartmouth.org>
would arrive at the email address of John.A.Doe.86@alum.dartmouth.org.
We do discourage giving out your email address using
your nicknames. The full address that is provided to you
by Dartmouth is unique. Nicknames may affect its uniqueness
and you may not receive your messages if someone else
has the same nickname settings as you.
If you have a home page, you can set the "URL"
field of your directory entry to list the address of your
personal or company web page. This way, you can give others
access to more information about you or your business.
(The Vox Alumni Network does not yet provide web page
hosting services.) For example:
