2003 Webmaster of the Year
2003 - Walter Daniels '70
A class webmaster necessarily wears a number of hats. A webmaster must be a technologist, staying abreast of current and promising web technologies so that the best ones can be incorporated into a class website. A webmaster must be an artist, creating a website presentation that is clean, aesthetically attractive, and easy to navigate. And a webmaster must be an active class officer, working to report class-related news and events through text and pictures.
Walt Daniels has been the embodiment of an outstanding class webmaster. The 1960 class website that Walt maintains is attractive, complete, easy to navigate, and a positive source of information regarding class and college news. Walt maintains the site diligently, pruning old information and adding new newsletters, photos, trip reports and other items frequently. In addition, he has generously shared his skill and knowledge with other webmasters, both through the webmaster discussion forum and through his mentoring activities to new webmasters, to the benefit of the entire Dartmouth community.
Walt, for your outstanding service to the class webmasters, to the Class of 1960, and to Dartmouth College, it is an honor to present to you the 2003 Class Webmaster of the Year Award.
